Absent? Let's say absent minded...

Please, please you must forgive  (asking for a lot of forgiveness lately!) my absentee-ism of late. Our household has been busy busy BUSY! Alexa not only is sitting by herself now but also getting about quite confidently and also quite confidently getting amongst everything!!!
The little lady on the move!
First of all and really the most exciting of the whole busy-ness is my brother and his wife had their little bubba. A little poppet named Willow. She is a dear. And I must say Aunty Kenny is most proud! I sewed her this little present the day of her birth. (I had been holding out making/buying anything until the discovery of lady bits or man bits!)
Hahahaha my attempt of a little owl softie!

Secondly my mum has been visiting so we have been wining (how do you spell wine-ing? What I wrote doesn't look right!) and dining most days and lazing about admiring the babies.

Down time with the mother dearest!
Mum finishing Alexa's quilt.

I've also been squeezing in a spot of opp shopping on the days that the rain has held off and have scored some major bargains.
Rip snorter toys for Missy. Xylophone 50c, Train 50c, Maraca 20c. YEW!!!

Forgive me Father for I have sinned, it's been...! I have a confession to make. I have decided after giving veganism a bit of a crack that I am going to instead become a... vegetarian. I feel a bit guilty and a bit of a failure about the decision but here are my reasons:

But as I am an avid opp shopper the compartments of said thingy-me-bob gradually became bombarded with pretty little numbers and began to sag and look all sad. So...enter the great cupboard hunt.

routine...

Apparently we humans thrive on routine. Apparently children thrive even more so. I have never been one for routine. I've always strived (strived? strove? hmm not too sure there!) to have routine, aspired to an organised and scheduled planned day, but have never quite got there. Lately I had been feeling

Mother guilt...

My sister alerted me to the term 'mother guilt' about two years ago but not being an actual mum at the time I tried my hardest to emphasise with her. Now that I am a mumma

craftiness and happiness...

The end product. I'm exhausted! Alexa is excited (I hope!).
Alexa and I have just come back from 10 days at my parents' farm in Victoria. We had such a great time hanging with loads of loved ones, all the animals and freshly newborn calves. However the shift in climates from Queensland to Victoria called for the need of numerous covers at bedtime. So...
